Winning Motive Team

Motive Takes The Cup

Combine two players from last year's winning BroadJump team, with two players from last year's 7th place Motive team (via some M&A activity), add one incredible bowler -- and you'll get a team that wins!  With a new Austin Cup record of 2,666, one might have expected a complete blow out.  But some remarkable bowling by newcomer NetSolve, and Austin Cup veteran teams Grande Communications and Active Power, kept the winning Motive team scanning the scoreboards all day!

Special Thanks

So many people help make The Austin Cup a special event each year.  I would specifically like to recognize the support this year of:  the coordinators with each participating company; Event Chairman, Jeff Browning, and Kim Paschall of Austin Ventures; April Downing, Kathy Skinner, Kenny VanZant and the team at Motive; Amy Warmke and Perri Munsch of Ernst & Young; Chris Sherman, AustinXL; Randi Shade, Austin Entrepreneurs Foundation; Wes Vinecombe, Dresser Wayne (tournament scoring system); the staff of the Children's Advocacy Center; Susan Birkenmayer (original logo design); Penny Wilson, Barefoot Memories; and Brian & Daisy Sullivan and Taylor Beaman -- whose patience and support throughout the year allow me to make this event a reality.  Much love and many thanks to you all, Lynne

The Austin Cup

The Austin Cup is a 14" silver cup that sits on a solid wood base.  Each year, the winning team receives a brass plate, which is inscripted with the year and the company name and attached to the base of the trophy.  When The Cup is relinquished at the following year's tournament, a replacement cup is provided to that company, so that they may have a momento of their reigning year.
